the universe takes away, and then gives back

Good for you! And get your own shovel lol. I wrote a poem once called Shovels and You. If I can find it I'll send it to you, it would probably make you laugh.
Yay! I hope you find it!
Shovels and You

Oh God the things that you brought me.
They were tied to your ears, embossed on your skin.
I needed to rent an extra room to fit them in.
When you came to visit the earth was not enough
to hold you up, you and the weight
you carried. I took it all gladly.
I bought a shovel, then a Caterpillar.
What you brought me I scooped up.
I tried hard to take it to the cemetery
but could not. I held it to my face.
The smell of it was my own smell,
every drop of swear on your back was suddenly
speaking to my heart: each burden
was like an anniversary. I made your trials
into a garden behind my house. Yours/mine
the roots would never tell me
which was which and why should they?
Their purpose was to carry our water.
I cry for you sometimes.

Ok, so I lied. This isn't funny. It's very old, and I haven't read it in about 12 years. But I think you get the idea.
